  1. You answer does not resolve the issue, ‘Let us see how to add A5 paper size to the Page Setup’. All you have done is describe how to change the paper size without adding that size to the list.

  5. why a5 itself does not exist in the world and we are obliged to enter the size of it.furthermore it is possible to forget the real size number.

  6. Annoyed to discover Word 2010 doesn’t offer A5 paper size, which as a card designer I use all the time. The proposed ‘solution’ doesn’t help at all!

  7. All the world except USA and Canada (and patt of Mexico uses the A series paper sizes. Come on Microsoft, get international. Next time you update Office 2010 put in an A5 paper size. You send out enough updates anyway.

  8. Its 2021 and still Microsoft can’t be ar**d to add A5 paper size

  9. Not having A5 is disastrous; it is a popular page size in many functions. This is another USA company trying to instil its selfish values on the world.

    Try this fix…

    1. In Windows 11 – GO to Settings > Printers & Scanner > CLICK ON “Run the trouble shooter”.
    2. CHECK the default printer is actually set as default. If not SET IT as the default printer.
(This is especially important if you use multiple printers and some may be wired USB cable and others on your network)
    3. GO BACK to Word and restart and check if the A5 and all other normal printer options (B5, Envelope …., Japanese, A6 etc.) have returned to “ Layout > Size …”
I had this same problem and realised that in order to use someone else’s printer whilst on a work trip, I had to select their printer as “default”. When I came back home my printer was working fine but the options for paper size was restricted to just A4, Legal, Letter, Executive & Custom. Don’t waste time with “Custom” as others have very unhelpfully suggested. Just check your printer settings thoroughly!
    It worked for me!
