During a slide show, you can move to next slide either by pressing ENTER or SPACEBAR on keyboard or on mouse click. And using Transitions menu, you can disable or enable the advance slide on mouse click.
Click the Transitions menu and navigate to Timing section
If you want to disable the feature, then un mark the check box labelled as On Mouse Click.

You have to do this on each individual slide. Is there a way to do it for the whole presentation or set it off by default for new slides?
You can select all slides and then go to Transitions and set it to off.
You can click ‘apply to all’ to the left and below the On Mouse Click check box.
Tim – To turn off for new slides, you can do that in the Slide Master view.
Slow motion conversation: I don’t see this as an option that can be set in Slide Master view.
To do this to multiple slides, click on the first slide, then press and hold Shift and click the last slide so it selects your slides. Then in Transitions tab, tick off the box for “On Mouse Click” under Timing > Advance Slide. It’ll apply it on the slides you selected.
