Disable permanently delete items warning message in Outlook

Outlook displays a warning message when deleting outlook emails. It displays a dialog box with message “Are you sure that you want permanently delete the selected items” as shown below

Are you sure that you want to permanently delee the selected items in Outlook

This is very useful warning option for the users before deleting the mail items permanently. But If you do not want to see the permanently deleted warning message then turn off or disable this warning message.

Disable warning message in Outlook 2016, Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2010

Click on the File menu –> Options and navigate to Advanced tab.

Scroll down to Other section and clear the checkbox with label as Prompt for confirmation before permanently deleting items. Click OK to save the changes.

 

Turn off permanently delete warning message in Outlook 2007

This warning message can be disabled in Outlook 2007 by using Tools –> Options.

Go to Tools –> Options and select Other tab.

Click on the Advanced Options button. The following Advanced Options window would be displayed.

Outlook 2007 Warn before permanenly deleting items

Uncheck the “Warn before permanently deleting items” to disable the warning message.

How to clear the trash folder in Outlook

This is tutorial provides instruction for clearing all the items in Outlook 2016 & Outlook 2013 trash folder.

Step 1: Click the Outlook File menu then navigate to Info section.

Step 2: In the Account Information screen, navigate to Mailbox Cleanup section and click the Cleanup Tools arrow pointing downwards.

Step 3: Select Empty Deleted Items Folder from the Cleanup Tools drop down list.

Step 4: Click the Yes button to permanently delete all the items in the Trash folder.

When you have lots of items in your trash folder and want to clean up on a single click then you can use this feature.

How to recover deleted folders in Outlook 2010

In this tutorial we will see how to recover a deleted folder in Outlook 2010. Let us take the following example to show recovery of deleted folders. Let us say you have deleted a folder named “resources” under Inbox by right clicking on the folder and select Delete Folder from the menu list.

Now to recover the deleted folder, navigate to Deleted Items folder under your email account and expand it. This would display the deleted folder “resources”along with the outlook items.

You can drag and drop the folder to your inbox and restore to place where it was before.

From the right click context menu, if you have selected Delete All menu option then it deletes only the outlook items inside the folder and leaves out the folder. To recover the deleted outlook items, navigate to Deleted Items folder and restore the individual items.
