Remove page number from selected pages in Word

This is in response to the query posted by a reader that “How to remove a page number without removing all page numbers ”.

Word 2016, 2013 and 2010 have a feature that allows users to remove page number for selected pages alone. The option is know as “Section Break” and it is available as part of the Page Setup menu. For example if you have 5 pages in a document and want to remove the page number for the 4th Page then you can follow the below mentioned steps.

Step 1:- In the Word document, scroll down to the page with number as 4.

Step 2:- Navigate to Page Layout menu then click the Break menu option under Page Setup section.

Step 3 :- Select Next Page from the Breaks menu drop down list.

Step 4 :- Then double click the Footer of the new page section.

Step 5 :- Select Same as Previous option in the document and un select the Link to Previous available under the Header & Footer Tools.

Step 6 :- Now you can edit or remove the page number from only the selected page.

Reset and Erase content on iPad

In this tutorial we will be covering about the Reset and Erase content feature available on iPad 2. Press the Home button on your iPad and tap the settings icon available on the Home screen.

In the Settings page, navigate to Reset option. This would display the following list of options.

If you are planning to sell your iPad then don’t forget to remove all your personal photos, documents and other files from your iPad. You can do this by tapping on the Erase All Content and Settings option.

And If you are facing problems with your iPad then probably you can the Reset All Settings option to see if that resolves the problem.

The Reset feature also provides users with the option for resetting only the Network Settings or Keyboard Dictionary or Home Screen Layout or Location Warnings. Depending upon the need you can choose these options. For example if you have problems in reconnecting to an already established network then you can reset the network settings and try again connecting with the network.

Prevent installing or uninstalling apps on iPad or iPhone

In this tutorial we will be see the steps required to prevent any users from installing or uninstalling any apps on iPad or iPhone. This is a useful tip if you are sharing your iPad with other people especially kids and do not want them accidentally uninstall and install any Apps.

To prevent users from removing or installing apps, press the menu button on your iPad and tap the Settings icon.

In the General Settings, tap the Restriction option and enable restrictions by setting a passcode. In the Restrictions screen, navigate to Installing Apps and Deleting Apps Option.

By tapping them and changing the value to Off would prevent users from removing or installing any apps on iPhone or iPad.

How to remove automatic hyperlink in Gmail Signature

In Gmail, any websites addresses in signature are automatically converted in to hyperlinks. For example, if you have added signature with web address and when you do a compose new message, it will automatically display the web address as hyperlink.

There is no settings that is currently available in Gmail that would turn off these hyperlinks. But there is a work around which can be done for each individual email message.

Gmail Plain Text Clicking the Compose Mail button would open a new compose mail window populated with signature. Now click the Pain Text option above the message text area to remove the hyperlink. In case if you plan to use other formatting option for writing the email then click the Rich formatting option. By this way you can manually remove the hyperlink from the web address in Gmail.

Turn off auto detect links in Google Docs

Hyperlinks

Google Docs has a feature that can automatically detect any links and apply the style accordingly. For example if you have type a text as http://digianswers.com in a Google Docs document then it would consider this as a hyperlink

But if you do not want the hyperlink then highlight the link and click on the remove link.

And if you want to permanently turn off the auto detection of links then click on the Tools menu and select Preferences from the list of available menus.

In the Preferences window, un mark the check box with label as Automatically detect links and click on the Ok button available at the bottom of the preferences window.
